“THE MIND IS NOT A VESSEL TO BE FILLED, BUT A FIRE TO BE KINDLED.”

THE COLLEGIUM
COLLEGIUM (LATIN), N: A GROUP UNITED BY COMMON PURPOSE
Young people, standing at the crossroads, are offered two educational pathways.
The “college route” is marked by crippling debt, inflated degrees, and ideological baggage. The “alternative education route” is riddled with hustlers, shoddy scholarship, and credentialism.
A third way is needed; one that is grounded in sanity, excellence, and localism.
THE COLLEGIUM: LOCAL LEARNING ON A NATIONAL SCALE
Mission: To invigorate well-ordered minds, joined in pursuit of personal, intellectual, and vocational cultivation.
Vision: A vital society of learning, grounded in reality and firm in veracity.
When the universities were founded, they were guilds of thinkers. They met wherever they could — churches, houses, even taverns — drawn not by institutions or mere credentials, but by teachers and ideas that were worth learning from for their own sake.
The Collegium is building on this historic foundation to deliver a wide range of learning opportunities — both local, in-person courses, as well as courses held over livestream and video formats. Local courses will be held in historic pubs, breweries, and restaurants across the United States, bringing together a small and intimate cohort emphasizing applied reason and dialectical rigor.
Anchored in timeless ideas, led by eminent thinkers, the Collegium is working to create a third way for the intellectually curious; one that cultivates personal, intellectual, and vocational excellence.
