PARLORS

“A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body.”

—Benjamin Franklin

OVERVIEW

In order to catalyze a robust network of social and intellectual gatherings, Arcata is cultivating relationships with high-quality (though not necessarily “high-class”) hospitable establishments in select cities across the fruited plains. These venues we have elected to call Parlors, since they are predominantly (in the context of Arcata) places for community and conversation. These Parlors are collaborating to help bring Arcata events to life, from an evening’s supper gathering to a twelve-week educational course.

For our Parlor partners, Arcata represents the opportunity to become a physical cornerstone of community and culture in their city or locale. Exceptional establishments will be invited to form an ongoing partnership to host events on a recurring basis.

Ideal candidates for Parlors are locally owned and operated, with an atmosphere that is conducive to community, culture, and conversation. Good food and drink are imperative. Such spaces might include historic houses and hotels, pubs, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wineries, and coffeehouses.

For more information on our parlor partnerships, or to begin exploring a collaboration with Arcata, please use the form below. We will be in touch within 72 hours.
